Microsoft Active Directory Topology Diagrammer

A while back—years ago—Microsoft included a plug-in with Microsoft Visio 2000 that would allow you to map out the entire Active Directory structure of your network.  As a consultant, this was very useful.  Basically, connect to the network and run the plug-in from within Visio and you get a network map based on the Active Directory.  Very useful information when looking over a network for the first time.

When Microsoft Visio 2003 and 2007 was released—this feature was removed.

Now, you can download the Microsoft Active Directory Topology Diagrammer and add the functionality back to Microsoft Visio 2007 and 2003.  The only requirements to run the add-on is Microsoft Visio 2003 or 2007 and Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.

Very cool…
